About us
We are a team of interior designers and furniture and home decor professionals who noticed a lack of platforms and places of information regarding this significant topic. We've decided to make a change. AND SAVE THE PLANET! Okay, we cannot literally save the planet, but we can at least do as much as we can in our branch: educate interior designers, help grow the community of sustainable furniture and home decor manufacturers, and encourage designers to convert their beautiful ideas into more sustainable designs.
About creator
I am Lidija Popovic; I graduated from the Faculty for Design, Department of Interior and Furniture Design, in 2009. I got my Master's degree in Landscape architecture in 2011. Since then, I've worked globally as an international interior and landscape architect, primarily serving clients in Western Europe and the US markets. From the beginning of my career, I've developed a strong interest in sustainable furniture, home decor, and eco-friendly interiors in general.
Our goal
While creating the Sustainable Interior District, we've decided to meet as many sustainable design manufacturers as possible, learn about their production processes and materials, and connect them with a large community of interior designers. This way, we help both sides develop their businesses, helping the planet by reducing the use of mass-produced factory items, leaning towards small companies and furniture and home decor designers.
